Working with you insurance

Leave the paperwork to us

No two accidents are the same, and everyone responds differently, so I always adapt my treatments to your unique needs. Many factors such as the severity of the accident, the extent and nature of your injuries, your daily activities, etc. affect your recovery. I account for these factors in your care and adjust each session accordingly. 

As a courtesy to you Avani Massage will bill your insurance for you. This does not guarantee payment. If your insurance does not pay you are still financially responsible for the bill. Any invoice not paid within 30 days is subject for collections. All sessions including injury recovery is subject to our cancellation policy.

When billing insurance we need your claim number/Insurance number, insurance contact as well as a prescription from your physician or chiropractor along with your client intake form and any other necessary documents for us to work your case. These steps help ensure your claims are processed properly and correctly while helping to reduce stress for you in the long run.

You can also pay at time of service Avani Massage will provide you necessary documents for you to file for reimbursement from your insurance within 72 hours after your appointment. We do not offer discounts for paying at time of service vs. billing insurance. 

Medical massage is billed in timed increments called Units. Generally 4 procedure units are allowed per visit and two modalities. However a persons diagnosis may requite more or less units based on the diagnosis on the prescription your doctor provides. 

We bill medical massage sessions in 15 minute unit increments at $35 a unit. Heat and Ice therapy is used as needed and billed at $25 per 1 unit regardless if billing direct to your insurance or if you pay out of pocket for reimbursement.

All sessions are subject to our Policies and Procedures.


How to Start

You are responsible for knowing what your insurance coverage is. There are a few steps you need to take to ensure your insurance will pay. Contact your Auto agent or Medical Insurance and confirm that you have coverage:

  • For billing auto insurance ask if you have Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage. If you do, ask them how much you have available, what your claim number is and best phone number for providers to call. You will need to provide this information in order for us to process claims on your behalf.

  • For billing medical insurance confirm that you have In or Out of Network benefits for massage and what the coverage is. 

  • See your doctor or chiropractor right away for an exam and prescription for massage. It must include a duration and diagnosis code. If not we will be happy to send in a request for you after you have had your exam with your doctor/chiropractor.

  • Schedule your massage consultation appointment! Bring your claim information or insurance card with you. This gives us a chance to discuss your case, go over necessary documentation, verify we have all necessary insurance information and time for a hands on assessment session.

Auto Insurance

If you have been injured in an auto accident your doctor may prescribe massage as part of your treatment plan. Your auto insurance covers your treatment under the Personal injury protection (PIP) allows you to get the care you need. 

We work with most auto insurance companies. Be sure to bring in your claim number, pip amount available and best phone number for providers or your agent's phone number. This way we can verify your insurance will work with us as well as obtain any additional information we need in order to submit for billing.


We are not currently billing L&I insurance at this time.

Health Insurance

We are currently not billing health insurance at this time.
